INTRODUCTION

CSE department is started with the intake of 60 during the academic year 2007.At present this department is having 80 students with 5 well qualified teachers.

The departments are surrounded by 2 full fledged computer centers with 350 computers and 3 IBM servers. This computer centers having all the licensed original software’s as per Anna University. An internet leased line connection with bandwidth of 2 Mbps is available.

Computer Society Of India (CSI) students chapter is started during Feb 2009.75 students of IT & CSE and other allied departments are members of this technical forum. Lectures and contests are decided to conduct. More students are going to join in this academic year.

To cater the needs of computer industry, special coaching is provided to develop soft skills by the management through external agencies like Smart and Carrier Junction.

A National Level Technical Symposium ‘Blitzkrieg’ was conducted on Feb 13,2009.Technical Papers were received from 55 colleges all around India and 13 papers were shortlisted.Technical paper presentation, debugging, Quiz, Dump C, Gaming and many contests were conducted. A souvenir was released as part of this Symposium.

In this academic year, on behalf of Associations contests like debugging, programming etc will be conducted periodically and prizes will be awarded. A technical conference on the topic ‘Software engineering’ is to be conducted. Many Guest lectures and seminars will be arranged for the students
